一般过去时

我们已经接触过"一般现在时"、"现在进行时"和"一般将来时"。但如果要描述过去的事情，该如何表达呢?请仔细观察下面的例句，然后补全结论部分中所缺的内容。

[例句]

1. I was late for school this morning.

2. Susan wasn't born in Shanghai.

3. Were your parents at home yesterday?

4. Where were you born?

[结论]

1.一般过去时表示过去某一时间发生的动作或存在的状态，经常与表示______的时间状语连用，如:yesterday，the day before yesterday, last week, last month, last year, a moment ago, just now, in 2012等.2.通过观察上面的例句我们发现动词be的过去式形式有两种:am，is的过去式为______;are的过去式为______.

3.含动词be的一般过去时的各种句式:

1)肯定句式:"主语+was/were+______其他."

2)否定句式:"主语+was/were+______+其他."

3)一般疑问句式:" +主语+其他?"

肯定回答为:"Yes,主语+was/were."

否定回答为:"No,主语+wasn't/weren't."[运用]

你在哪出生?

be bom意为"出生"，并且动词be常常用过去式was或were。Be born后面可跟不同的介词，表示"出生的时间、地点"。如:

Li Gang was born in Beijing.

He____________12th February,1999.

他出生于1999有2月12日。

Ann____________4:30in the afternoon.

安出生在下午4:30。

2. She was strict but very nice.

翻译:________________________

strict用作形容词，意为"严格的;严厉的"，在句中既可以作表语，也可以作定语。如:My mother is always very strict.

Mr Smith is a very strict teacher

strict还常用于以下短语:

Be strict with sb.表示"对某人要求严格"。如:

The teacher____________.

老师总是对我们严格要求。

be strict in sth.表示"____________"。如:

Linda is always strict in her work.

琳达总是对她的工作要求严格。

3. Becky was very good in class but Adam wasn't.

贝姬在课堂上表现很好，可亚当不好。

Good adj.乖的;守规矩的

好的;优秀的;有益的;漂亮的

含good的短语:

be good at ...擅长......

be good for...对.....有帮助的

difficult adj.难对付的

以前学过的difficult意为"困难的，难懂的"

e.g. Maths is difficult for Betty.

5. What were they like?

"What+be+sb.+like?"意为"某人怎么

样?" 用来询问某人的性格特点，常

nice,friendly,kind等表示性格特点

的形容词回答。如:

-What is Tom like?

-He is friendly.

与这个问句类似的还有:

'What+do/does+sb.+ look like?"用来询问某人的外表、长相，常用tall,short,fat,thin(瘦的),good-looking(好看的)等表示外形特点的形容词回答。

如:

-What doe Susan look like?

-She is thin.

Listen and notice the stressed. And listen and repeat.

1.-l was born there.

-No, you weren't.

2. -You weren't born in Cambridge.

Yes, I was.

3. -They were born in China.

-No, they weren't.

4. -He was a teacher.

No, he wasn't.

5. -She was strict.

No, she wasn't.
